  • Welcome!

Thank you so much to all my wonderful clients over the past 7 years. My family has recently moved out of state and as a result I have closed my photography business in Lancaster.

String Ensemble * Lancaster Portrait Photography

This next session was something I have not done before – photograph musicians.   It isn’t something I want to do regularly (I’m sticking to babies and kids!) – but I couldn’t resist when they asked me to photograph them for a CD they are making.   I have known all of the younger girls since they were very little – so it is pretty amazing to see how they have grown into such lovely young women with so much talent!

We really had a lot of fun doing these pictures – and they were such troopers!  It was so cold at some points during the session that the girls were literally shaking!  And, with the session being at the most difficult time of the day for good light – high noon – I was having to move them constantly to try and get the right lighting on the whole group.

We had a good time and got some great pictures that they will be able to use for their CD.  Here’s my plug for them –  they are an amazing sounding string ensemble who play at weddings and events.  If you are interested in using them and want to listen to a demo CD, contact me and I’ll make sure you get one!

Awesome! I love how you incooperated their instruments into the shoot! I have a session with a teen coming up who plays the violin! You have given me some inspiration!

Great images! They look like they’re having a ball.

Littlest Heroes Project * Lancaster PA * Child and Family Charity Photographer

I’ve just recently signed up to partner with a very neat ministry called the Littlest Heroes Project.  Their goal is to honor children with serious illnesses and life-altering disabilities and spread awareness of their courage. Participating families are connected with a professional photographer in their area who help to capture the beauty and hope in their everyday lives.

So, now I need help to spread the word!  If you know a family with a child that deserves his/her own special photo session, send them to the Little Heroes website.   Some other things you can do are email this blog post to your friends to help spread the word, &  print posters (like the one below) and post them (with permission) in places like church bulletin boards, day cares centers, and specialist’s offices.  You can find links for more printable resources on the Littlest Heroes website here.  Thanks for your help!

Casting Call!

I am in need of couple newborn girls to help me with some new ideas that I want to try out.   If you know anyone who is pregnant (with a girl) and due in the next month or so, please send them my way!  Here are the details:

*Participants will receive the session for free, and 5 free 8×10’s of their choice.

*However, this is not a typical infant session, and will not include a full range of images.  I will only be focusing on specific poses.

*This session is for the baby only (and in some cases mom or dad).  We would not be doing any family/sibling shots.

*The session must be done before the baby is 2 weeks old, so mom needs to contact me while she is still pregnant.

*The session will be done in my home studio in Akron, and will take approximately 2 hours.

*All images have the potential to be used in marketing or promotional material for CB Portraits.

I will only be able to take the first couple mommies who contact me, so act fast!  Email me at bonnie@cbportraits.com.  Feel free to pass this information on to your friends.   Thanks!

And here’s a picture of an adorable bundle of sweetness.  Doesn’t it just make you want to scoop her up and kiss her all over!

Mini Portrait Session Location – can you help?

I am excited to announce that I’ll be doing several mini portrait session days this spring/summer!  These are approximately 30 min. long sessions where you get beautiful portraits at a lower cost.  More details to come soon!

BUT – I am looking for some new out-door locations to do these mini portrait sessions.  If you have any ideas – please let me know!  The ideal location is somewhere with open space, trees, and  mature shrubbery.  These things would be an added bonus:  a stream, a field (with wildflowers!), little wooden bridge… If you know of a place like this that is public, or a private residence (like a friend) that I could contact – please let me know!  It would need to be within a 20 min. drive of Akron (17501).

As a bonus – I will give a FREE mini-session to anyone who gives me a location that I choose to use!  And, if you can provide any pictures of the place, I might add a print credit on top of that!
