  • Welcome!

Thank you so much to all my wonderful clients over the past 7 years. My family has recently moved out of state and as a result I have closed my photography business in Lancaster.

Miss Charis * Lancaster Newborn Photographer

Miss Charis, it was such a pleasure meeting you and and an honor taking your first portraits!  You are joining a special family, and a big brother and sister who love to give you hugs and kisses!

Your mommy and I just couldn’t believe how awake you were for your session.  Poor mommy came to the session after a tough night of little sleep. So, we were sure you would sleep well for your portraits!  But, you were determined to keep your eyes open and watch everything that was going on.   But, that’s okay.  For the 10 minutes you did sleep, I was able to get some really sweet sleeping ones.  And, for the rest of the pictures we are able to enjoy your pretty little eyes! :)     Hugs and kisses to you sweet baby girl!

Beautiful pictures. Love them.

The last of the fall sessions * Lancaster Child photographer

I still had several fall sessions I hadn’t blogged yet, and so here is one big post with lots of adorable kiddos!

The first is Miss Auburn. This little lady is growing up so fast! She has quite an adorable fascination with sticks. I was beginning to think I wouldn’t be able to get picture of her without one! :)

I really love family sessions where moms and dads can just play and I can capture the laughter and smiles.

Next is Mr. Jeremy, an adorable little guy who gives the phrase “active 2 year old” a whole new meaning! :)

And, last is sweet little Miss Mia. I did her session many months ago, but it was all TOP SECRET until Christmas. Mia’s very thoughtful Aunt gave this session as a Christmas gift to Mia’s mom and dad. I heard back that they were indeed very surprised and just loved the pictures of their sweet little girl. Here’s Miss Mia…

Beautiful natural images. (visiting from flickr cafe)

Mr. Derek * Lancaster Baby Photographer

Sweet little Derek, it was so nice to meet you!  Your faces and poses just made me laugh.  You really had the whole arm thing going on!  Although you were two months old at our session, you still liked to keep your arms up over your head – the way you were in your mommy’s belly.  My attempts to bring your arms down were usually unsuccessful.  And now I’m glad.  It is part of who you were at this precious stage of life.  Hugs and kisses to you little man!

Those arms made some of these pictures. Really showing some personality at such a young age. How cute!

Oh my goodness.
Too adorable!
I love the arm. That’s the sort of thing that’s fleeting and easy to forget about, but you’ve captured him at 2 months just perfectly!

These pictures turned out incredible!!! Bonnie captured our little Derek perfectly and this is completely his personality. Hes a silly, active little boy. Thank you!!!!

[…] what? I met your cousin a few months ago for a portrait session, and he was such a little ham for his pictures.  How […]

Miss Emily * Lancaster Baby Photographer

Sweet little Miss Emily…  You were such a little charmer!  You did just beautifully for your first photo session!  4 months old can be a difficult age to photograph because you hadn’t mastered sitting up yet, and tummy time was still tough.   When you arrived and your mommy said you just woke up, I knew I had about 45 min. of happy baby smiles to work with.  I worked fast and you did great!  We quickly went through a whole variety of poses and outfit changes before you let us all know you had had enough.  Thanks for visiting me baby girl – your sweet smile made my day!

I love this candid style portrait!  Mom and dad ordered a large print of this one to go over their living room sofa!

I love your studio newborn work! Excellent! And the expressions you capture! Priceless!

Handmade for Christmas

I love to make things with my hands, and I’m very determined once I’ve set my mind to something.   I’ve always been like that.  I remember laboring over an old sewing machine when I was in Junior High, trying to figure out how to make it work.  Also as  teenager I tried quilting, crocheting, cross stitching,  etc..  I spent so many hours working on projects and creating things to give away as gifts. I still love to create things.   In college I took up scrapbooking – spending a lot of money, and huge amounts of time creating scrapbooks of my college/dating life, wedding, and then documenting my first pregnancy and 1st year of my son’s life.  (That was fairly short lived, as my zeal for scrapbooking faded…my son will be my only child with a scrapbook. :)). A couple years ago I taught myself to knit on a long  family vacation car ride.   I really wanted to knit tiny, soft little hats for my newborn clients.  They are my absolute favorite things to make!   Currently I’m trying my hand at crochet too…but that will probably never be something I do very consistently. Well, I have less and less time these days to do any of that…but, I always seem to end up making handmade Christmas gifts for family members.  Every year I tell myself it might not be worth the time, and I should probably just buy people gifts I know they will like.  But, it seems every year I come up with the next great gift to make.  :)

So, here are a couple gifts I made for people this year.  The first are Fabric Key Chains.  I found this pattern many months ago and thought it would be an easy, yet unique gift to make.  Well, they were more time consuming than I thought (not making them, but gathering the supplies)…but I think they turned out pretty cute! :)

The next thing are Fabric Flowers.  I actually became a little obsessed with making them.   I didn’t realize they were so easy, and how many different ways you could make them.  You can put a flower on a hair clip, or attach it to a headband, jazz up a shirt etc.    Here are some of the flowers I made.

And tiny little flower headbands for my little newborn clients.  Aren’t they precious!

Here are some websites I used if you are interested in making some for yourself!  I’ll warn you – it’s addicting! :)
